Main Activities
Kigyo Mécénat Kyogikai (KMK: Association for Corporate Support of the Arts) advocates the principle that corporations should support the arts independently and under their own initiative.
KMK aims to create a cultural infrastructure for the encouragement and development of business and arts alliances by organizing a variety of programs which bring together the artistic and cultural communities with the commercial sector.
In addition, KMK undertakes efforts to promote and heighten awareness of corporate support of the arts, including lobbying for tax reform vis-a-vis corporate support of the arts.

Promotion of Mécénat
Seminars and Symposiums
Offering programs analyzing various issues from a wide range of perspectives
Kigyo Mécénat Kyogikai organizes seminars and workshops focusing on business and arts related issues, exclusively to member corporations and organizations. In the past years, some series of seminars have been arranged such as "The Mécénat Introductory Seminar," especially targeting personnel newly appointed to corporate mécénat divisions, and the "Case Studies," taking a closer look at the philanthropic and sponsorship activities of individual corporations. Daytrips to galleries, museums, private studios of artists, guided tours of theatres invite members to the backstage of artistic and cultural facilities. Also, KMK has conducted open seminars and symporiums to the general public such as artists, people working in non-profit organizations, business people and students.
KMK hosts national and international conferences, symposiums and lectures in order to encourage corporate
support of the arts and to heighten awareness concerning mécénat among the general public. In 1995, the international mécénat Conference 95 was held in commemoration of the
association's fifth anniversary. The three day event drew 90 panelists and official representatives from 27 nations, and a total of more than 1400 attenders from around the world. Symposiums and
conferences inviting top personnel of international business-arts alliances are also held on special occasions.
