2024-No.6 Japan Mécénat Awards 2024: Six Activities Awarded, Katolec Corporation Receives Grand Award for Its Renewal of Shikokumura Museum
The Association for Corporate Support of the Arts (5-3-2 Shiba, Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Masumi Natsusaka) decided to award the Japan Mécénat Awards 2024 to six activities (one Grand Mécénat Award and five Awards for Excellence). The “Mécénat Awards” are to publicly honor particularly outstanding corporate activities from the perspective of enriching society through the promotion of Arts and Culture.
Katolec Corporation was awarded the Grand Award for preserving historical architectures and cultural properties of Shikokumura Museum while enhancing their exhibits and communicativity by the renewal, which has led to an understanding of local culture and expanded the new possibility of the museum.
Awards for Excellence were also awarded to the following recipients: an art exhibition that promotes and broadens art and culture in local communities; a grand international joint survey project that helps define the history of Japanese Art; a painting contest that makes children around the world aware of the environment and sustainable lifestyles; an initiative that supports variety of young creators through scholarship and opportunities of creation and interaction; and performing arts that nurtures children’s sound minds for over 60 years.
